MESSAGE TO ALL ARTIST: BE THANKFUL FOR YOUR EYES
(by genoveva c. barcelo  2/3/2009)

I went for a trip to visit a wonderful castle, very ineresting built. I wish all artist will be able to visit this Hearst Castle. This man William Hearst, as a child dreamed to build this castle, as age 56-57, his dreams fulfilled as the Castle finished after 27 years. The most interesting in this castle are the furnitures that are carved like those from narra woods from Philippines, I thought, hindi pahuhuli ang mga manggagawa sa atin, kasi parang gawa sa Phils ang mga woods, the bed frames, the benches and the sofas and the wall are all carved artistically.

I brought along my best camera, unfortunately, the flash are not allowed inside to capture everything inside. The ceiling on the main living room are all carved woods of famous people in the 18th century, the size of a door double it if you have a small door, was all up there on the ceiling, amazingly wonderful, they were from Russia, according to the tour guide. The inside pool itself is worth 6 million US dollars, the tiles of the wall are gold plated, I thought what a waste, "marami raming pustiso ito", and some parts of the house, the gates the door frames, are very artistically done with gold plated on it. Check my photos or my blog for yu to see it, I will post some more photos later. The statues on the outdoor pool are all marbles from Europe, they are all naked! who cares whose going to see them they might say! only the tourist are coming to see us. Itīs so marvelous to my eyes, and some of you who love marbles statues, thatīs the place to see it.

Weīre not allowed to touch the marbles or hindi rin puwedeng nakawin, even they were just outside the castle, everywhere in the yard. My 8 years old son, tried to touch the bed and it beeps, so itīs not allowed to touch anything. I was trying to lean on one of the pillar on the outdoor poor, and the guard told me "NO", I was starting to get annoy with her because I was always the last person on the group shooting photos where we only have 5 mins each room to visit.

I tried so hard to shoot with films of course for you arts lover to see on my blog, unfortunately I didnt cathc every paintings there because it was dark without the flash. For you whoever interested to see my blog thereīs more to come of photos of the castle. as we finsihed the second tour, on the way out the entrance, we stepped out of the tourist bus, I glance quickly at the line up for the next group of people touring. I saw a man with a cane and a guide holding his arm, Ooh! I said, the blind man is going up to the hills and going for a tour!

He will miss all the arts collection, the antique paintings, the walls hanged with all tapestries and all the wood furnitures..Itīs sad, arenīt we thankful for our eyes? Be thankful..More stories to come. Please share your oppurtunities..
